Legal Status of Abortion in Senegal - Additional Studies

• A study conducted in four major hospitals in Dakar between 1993 and 1994 found that 19% to 24% of postabortion care cases were related to induced abortion and that complications of unsafe abortion accounted for 3% to 13% of maternal deaths (Diadhiou et al., 1995).
