Nathalie Sawadogo, PhD
Dr. Nathalie Sawadogo is the principal investigator of the team at the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population (ISSP) of the Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo. She is an assistant professor of demography, head of the Population and Health Research Unit of the ISSP and a member of the Laboratoire de Recherche Interdisciplinaire en Sciences Sociales et Santé (LARISS) of the Université Joseph Ki-Zerbo. Her research interests include sexual and reproductive health, sexual and reproductive rights, social inequalities in health and education, and gender relations. Methodologically, she mobilizes both quantitative and qualitative approaches in her research and has a strong interest in ethical and epistemological issues. She has participated in the design and implementation of several studies on reproductive health in sub-Saharan Africa and in Burkina Faso in particular. She is the author and co-author of various publications related to reproductive health and social inequalities in health and education. Her main ongoing research outside of this study includes sexual violence against adolescents, experiences and strengthening training opportunities for pregnant and parenting adolescents, ideological influences on couples' reproductive attitudes, and the sexual and reproductive health of internally displaced populations in Burkina Faso.
